ProBuilder can be used by your product experts to build and maintain all rules and logic required to define how your products can, should and cannot be assembled. ProBuilder is a graphic tool that requires no additional skills such as programming. By using ProBuilder to manage all product rules, your product experts know that Marketing and Sales can only package and sell products that can be manufactured. A further benefit to the product experts is that Sales will need less support from them when it comes to determining what can and cannot be quoted. Since many recommendations can also be built into the application, product experts can focus more of their time on the most value-adding activities.

Define what should be sold, by packaging your capabilities into sales components

Goods coming directly from production are not normally packaged for marketing. There is a huge difference between a factory component and a sales component. You won’t find sales components such as business edition, comfort package, installation and extended warranty on a shelf in the factory. Sales components reflect the chosen sales options that have been selected to meet customer demand. Sales components can be made up of one or more factory components, but also of immaterial components such as installation, insurance, warranty or service. Successfully managing sales components is the key to maximizing customer value and add-on sales opportunities, while keeping the costs of maintaining variants to a minimum.

Define list price and market specific prices

ProBuilder can import costs of components from your other business applications. By setting a standard margin in ProBuilder you can quickly create a list price. If you want to adjust prices in other ways than with a standard margin, you can manually adjust the proposed list price. ProBuilder can also be used to manage price variations between different markets. Alternatively, the separate module ProPrice can be used to set and differentiate your margin in relation to your specific markets, products or sales channels.

Set automatic calculations of key product properties

Conserve your sales team’s precious time by letting the sales configurator handle calculations of product properties that your customers expect to receive, such as the total weight of a specific assembly. In ProBuilder any product feature such as weight can be added to components and then summarized and displayed with the proposed configuration.

Another way to use properties is to calculate business factors such as required on-site installation time. By setting installation time as a property at component level, the total installation time can be calculated and displayed with the proposed configuration.

Drive sales by promoting add-on sales

Add-on sales opportunities such as insurance are often overlooked in the race for closures. ProBuilder can be used to include a prompt for typical add-on opportunities, for instance it can propose insurance for a specific range of products in a way that the sales representative has to make an active decision. Our experience is that sales of add-ons can be greatly improved just by making the decisions active.
